The portfolio holds 22% in growth assets, but the real story is in the bond ladder. Every one of the top ten holdings is a New Zealand government bond, with maturities staggered from 2027 out to 2040. Three of those are inflation-linked. The fixed-income allocation splits between local bonds at 35% and international bonds at 27%, with cash making up another 17%. The growth sleeve divides between Australasian shares at 5.6% and international shares at 12%.

Over five years the fund returned 2.9% annually, trailing its one and three year results of 6.2% and 7.5%. The fund holds $552 million in assets under management. AMP labels this Conservative, though its 22% growth allocation places it in the Moderate category by standard classification. The bond-heavy structure and government-debt focus point to capital preservation as the primary objective, with modest equity exposure for long-term purchasing power.
