QuayStreet Altum manages just $16.4 million but carries a total fee of 1.33 percent, among the steepest in the Australasian Shares category. That fee structure includes a 1.17 percent management charge, plus additional fees for other costs and performance. The fund returned 15.9 percent over the past year, 12.6 percent annually over three years, and 8.5 percent annually over five years.

The portfolio takes a concentrated approach, with nearly 45 percent in international shares and 36 percent in Australasian shares. Gold features prominently: US miner Newmont Corp accounts for 7.83 percent of the fund, while the VanEck Gold Miners ETF adds another 4.25 percent. Big tech names dominate the international allocation, led by Alphabet at 6.52 percent, Dutch chipmaker ASML at 5.77 percent, and Intuit, Salesforce and Adobe all above 3.5 percent. Australian healthcare provider Ramsay Health Care and German industrial giant Siemens round out the top ten. Cash sits at 17.71 percent, with another 12.41 percent in a single New Zealand cash account, giving the fund nearly 30 percent in defensive positions despite its high-growth allocation on paper.
