Simplicity Growth Fund

A 0.24% annual fee puts Simplicity Growth among the cheapest funds in its category, and the $2.8 billion in assets under management makes it one of the largest. The fund sits 2nd in its category over three years with a 15.7% annualised return, and 6th over one year at 12.1%.

The portfolio tilts hard toward international shares at 57%, with big tech dominating the top of the list: Nvidia at 3.8%, Apple at 3.5%, Microsoft at 2.6%. Australasian shares take 15%, led by Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Auckland Airport. The fund also holds 7% in Simplicity Living, an unlisted property vehicle. The remaining fifth splits across New Zealand and international bonds, plus cash.

This is an 80% growth asset allocation with a concentrated bet on US equities, particularly the mega-cap technology names that have driven global markets. The unlisted property stake is unusual for a fund at this scale and adds an illiquid exposure most peers avoid. The structure is straightforward: low cost, high growth orientation, long time horizon baked into the design.
