The Simplicity Growth Fund charges 0.25 percent annually and holds $2.8 billion, making it one of the largest growth funds in the KiwiSaver market. It placed 2nd in its category over three years with a 15.7 percent annualised return, and 6th over one year at 12.1 percent.

The fund puts 80 percent into growth assets, tilting heavily toward international shares at 57 percent of the portfolio. The top holdings read like a tech index: Nvidia at 3.83 percent, Apple at 3.45 percent, Microsoft at 2.58 percent, then Amazon, Alphabet and Broadcom further down. Australasian shares take 15 percent, led by Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Auckland Airport. The fund's single largest position is an unusual one: 7 percent sits in Simplicity Living, an unlisted property venture building retirement villages. The remaining fifth of the portfolio spreads across New Zealand and international bonds, plus cash.

This is a high-growth structure with a concentrated bet on US technology and a notable allocation to an unlisted property asset tied to the provider's own development. The fee sits well below the category average. Over five years the fund returned 8.2 percent annualised, placing 4th in its category.
